Our Legacy
Charles Huband, our founder and most relentless champion, saw that people living in poverty lacked access to stable and dignified housing; often renting derelict units from absent landlords. He witnessed developers push residents with low incomes and limited housing options out of their homes and neighbourhoods.
He saw there was another way. His legacy is the Westminster Housing Society.

Support the WHS Charles Huband Endowment Fund!
The Winnipeg Foundation holds the Charles Huband Endowment Fund, a permanent endowment fund established by Westminster Housing Society Inc. Gifts to this fund are pooled and invested to benefit WHS in perpetuity. The income generated by the fund is distributed to Westminster Housing Society to be used at its discretion.
